Abhay Deol will soon be seen in Jungle Cry, a film inspired by the real-life story of how a team of boys from Odisha prepare to compete at the Junior Rugby World Cup. The film features Abhay playing the role of a rugby coach, as he trains Rudraksha Jena, an enthusiastic sports team from the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS). The story chronicles the journey of the rugby team’s under-14 historic win in 2007. A poster and trailer of Jungle Cry were launched at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival 2019.

The trailer of the film showcases Abhay training a bunch of kids. Emily Shah, associated with films like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Jersey Boys and Fast & Furious 7, will play the leading lady, as she portrays a physiotherapist of the sports team.
Talking about Jungle Cry, Abhay Deol to Times of India, "What makes the win even more impressive is that these kids were football players who had just four months to learn rugby and still managed to lift the World Cup in the UK. This is an underdog story of success and that’s what made it attractive to me."
