Abhijeet Bhattacharya courts legal trouble once again after a woman alleges that he used derogatory language against her

It looks like legal hassles are never-ending for the singer

Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has found himself on the wrong side of law once again. A woman has alleged that the singer spoke to her in a rather abusive manner while talking on the phone. She has filed a FIR against the singer and the case has been registered in Amboli Police Station, Andheri. The police have filed a charge under section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police told Hindustan Times, "The woman had an argument with the singer over some drilling work being done in the society. She claims that she was abused by him. We have registered a case and will be investigating the case further." The singer has denied all the claims and given his side of the story. Abhijeet has however denied the allegations and has commented on the issue. He said the woman had been trying to extort money from him by making such statements. He told the paper, "She has been threatening me and others to extort money. I have given a commercial place on rent. My tenants were getting some work done, and she objected to it. Being the owner of the place, I intervened in it." He also said that the woman has made an illegal construction in the building. He said the cops have not contacted him so far. The singer has been making news for such reasons since a while now. Abhijeet was in a legal soup after he abused a female journalist.
