The lockdown has given people enough time to revive past memories. One of the underrated Bollywood friendships that we adore is the one between Goldie Behl and Abhishek Bachchan. The two have been with each other through thick and thin. The Manmarziyan actor shared an anecdote from his childhood when Goldie Behl and he were thrown off the sets of Pukar. This happened in 1983. In his latest Instagram post, Abhishek Bachchan shared the tale behind his 2001 film, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai. It was directed by his BFF Goldie Behl. He said the two decided to make a film together after they were thrown off the sets of Pukar for damaging props. The film directed by Ramesh Behl starred Zeenat Aman and Amitabh Bachchan.
Abhishek Bachchan wrote on Instagram, "Two childhood best friends who wanted to make a movie together ever since they were thrown off the set of their fathers' film for breaking the props because as a 5-year-old and 6-year-old, we got excited seeing fake swords on set. The movie was Pukar and Goldie Behl's father (the great Ramesh Behl) was the director and my dad was the lead." He further wrote in the caption, "During the climax shoot in Goa, we chanced upon the fake swords and started playing with them and then eventually breaking them. We were promptly sent back to the crew hotel. 19 years later we made our first film together."
Abhishek Bachchan and Goldie Behl have been buddies since childhood. Sikander Kher is also close to these two. Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai had Abhishek Bachchan as Suraj, an innocent young man who comes to Mumbai to build a successful life. He finds love in Pooja (Rani Mukerji) and later gets trapped in the vicious circle of Naved Ali (Jackie Shroff). How he redeems himself after losing his ethics was what the story was all about.
