After Ajay Devgn, It's Sunny Deol's turn to play Singam on the big screen

He will be seen as the main lead in the remake of Tamil hit S3 aka Si3 aka Singam 3...

For a quite sometime now Bollywood has been taking a lot of inspiration from South Indian film industry be Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam or Kannada cinema. And same continues even today. In 2011, Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn came together for a gritty and highly interesting tale of a an honest police officer names Bajirao Singham, in Singham. The film was a remake of Tamil blockbuster Singam that starred Suriya. While Hindi one saw a sequel in Singham Returns, Rohit Shetty took the original character from Tamil film and created his own universe with the second film. But now turns out someone else too has taken a leaf out of Durai Singam's life as Singam 3 aka Si3 which released earlier this year will see a stand alone remake in Hindi. And guess what, in the hindi version the Singam will be, the macho man of Bollywood, Sunny Deol. The remake will have nothing to do with Ajay Devgn-Rohit Shetty's Singham franchise and it will be helmed by the cinematographer of various films like Ghajini, My Name Is Khan and OK Jaanu, Ravi K Chandran. This will be his Hindi directorial debut and for that he has signed Sunny Deol as the main lead and will be produced by Jayantilal Gada. Talking about the film, a source informed Mumbai Mirror, "When Sunny watched the original, he was impressed and immediately agreed to come on-board the Hindi remake. He will be playing a cop chasing a criminal gang and is set to start shooting by the year-end. Ravi is currently in the US working on the Hindi script and will start scouting for locations after the final script takes shape. Thakur Anoop Singh, who was the villain in the original, will be in the Hindi remake as well." Interestingly, just like the original Tamil version, Hindi remake too will be called S3.
