It seems Ajay Devgn is on a film-signing spree and that too in the biopic genre. After announcing Chanakya a few days back, the actor has announced one more biopic today. The untitled biographical sports drama is based on India's legendary Football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. The film will be directed by Amit Sharma, who recently wrapped the shooting of his debut directorial venture Badhaai Ho featuring Sanya Malhotra and Ayushmann Khurrana. The film will be jointly produced Boney Kapoor, Zee Studios and Fresh Lime Studios. Talking about the development of the film, Boney told TOI, “I was amazed that not many are aware of someone as significant as Syed Abdul Rahim. He’s an unsung hero whose achievements must be saluted. His team had heroes like Chunni Goswami, P.K. Banerjee, Balaram, Franco and Arun Ghosh. It takes someone like Ajay Devgn to play Syed Abdul Rahim. With him on board, I can just hope that our film inspires youngsters to play football, and India soon to bring the World Cup home.” Well, watching Ajay Devgn as a Football coach will definitely be a treat to all the movie buffs.

On the professional front, Ajay Devgn will be next seen in an untitled urban rom-com. The film marks the directorial debut of known editor Akiv Ali and is bankrolled by Luv Ranjan (Director of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Pyaar Ka Punchnama series) under his banner Luv Films along with T-Series. It will talk about the modern day relationship in a quirky way and also stars Rakulpreet Singh and Tabu in pivotal roles. It is extensively shot in Himachal Pradesh and London and is expected to release in October during the Dussehra weekend. Post this film, Ajay will be seen in Total Dhamaal, which features the ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh and Jaaved Jafferi.
