The film is having a fabulous run at the box office...
We all know how popular Akshay Kumar is! His films are not only seen by one and all, but even appreciated a lot by the masses. Over the past few years, his HIT percentage has been greater than any other actor and this has favoured him a lot. This year too, all his films - Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom have done well at the box office. In fact, his latest release is still a rage at the box office.
Not only did Rustom crush Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro, it has now affected this week's release - Happy Bhag Jayegi too. Diana Penty and Abhay Deol's film has garnered a lot of positive response and has been liked by the critics as well as the audience. However, coz of the low screen space the film has been affected.
We all know how amazing Rustom is and so, the demand for the film is high even today. This has resulted in it taking up most of Mohenjo Daro's shows as well as retaining most of its own. Hence, Happy Bhag Jayegi has had fewer shows. In fact, people have picked Rustom over Happy Bhag Jayegi throughout this weekend too. So Rustom's popularity and fewer shows for Happy Bhag Jayegi has affected the movie.
In fact, Happy Bhag Jayegi performed fine over the weekend as many shows were houseful. The film has made Rs 10.71 crore over the first weekend, which is relatively fine. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed in his tweet, "#HappyBhagJayegi saw further growth on Sun. Considering it started on a shaky note on Fri morning, the weekend total is substantial. #HappyBhagJayegi Fri 2.32 cr, Sat 3.81 cr, Sun 4.58 cr. Total: ₹ 10.71 cr. India biz... Has to stay afloat on weekdays to leave a mark." If it had more shows, it probably would have done even better.
