From what we hear, the Kapoor lad learnt boxing to prepare for his role of a street fighter in Bombay Velvet
Bollywood celebrities are caught with the boxing frenzy, it seems. As you will already know, Priyanka Chopra has picked up the gloves to prepare for Mary Kom's biopic. And very recently, we even saw Sonakshi Sinha in a boxer's avatar in the trailer of her upcoming film, Holiday, which also stars Akshay Kumar. Apparently, Sona's role in the film is modelled on boxer Laila Ali (the legendary Muhammad Ali’s daughter).
And now it's Ranbir Kapoor, who has followed his Anjaana Anjaani co-star and Ms Sinha's footsteps. From what we hear, the Kapoor lad got trained in boxing to prepare for his role of a street fighter in Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film, Bombay Velvet, which also features Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar (in a negative role). That's not all, Katrina Kaif's alleged boyfriend has also been training in martial arts, we hear.
Reportedly, a boxing trainer from Kenya was flown down to the sets of the film to work with the Rockstar actor. They worked together for about four months. Ranbir used to shoot in the day and train at night.
We also hear that Ranbir had to maintain his lean physique in spite of the heavy physical training, so that his appearance in the film remained consistent. And it is for this reason that he also followed a strict diet.
Well, it's indeed good to see our Bollywood celebs training hard for a role in a film. But then as they say too much of same thing tends to get boring, hai na?
