Khiladi Kumar is certainly B-town's favourite...
Isn't it great when good friends come along to support you? That is exactly what's happening for Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Rustom. Salman Khan posted a video on Instagram urging fans to watch the film, and soon after Ranveer Singh also joined the promotional brigade. He too posted a video, a quirky obviously, to extend his support to the film. And more stars are to join the promotions.
According to a leading daily, Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra are next in line to post videos, urging fans to watch Rustom. The videos will coming up until the release of the film, in sort of a video countdown. We are certainly waiting for these videos. We wonder who else is in line!
While Salman Khan said in his video "Humare film industry ke Rustom-e-Hind ki film aa rahi hai naam hai 'Rustom'. August 12 ko jaakar dekhiye Akshay Kumar ki film Rustom." Ranveer dressed up as naval officer and gave out a cute message to Khiladi Kumar.
We have earlier seen this kind of promotional tactics- where B-town celebs promote a colleague's film with the power of their social media. Remember when Sonam Kapoor started a campaign and urged celebs to post their biggest fears. The promotional trick got a great response from her friends. And we know how the film fared at the box office. Before that, Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif had promoted their film Bang Bang by starting a 'bang bang challenge' and dared people to do a task. Thanks to this, we got to see Ranveer Singh dancing on a street in Krrish costume.
Rustom is based on real life story of Indian Navy officer Commander K.M. Nanavati, who shot dead his wife's lover but was pardoned. The film, which carries the tagline '3 shots that shocked the nation' also brings back Akshay and director Neeraj Pandey after the duo worked together on their 2015 project Baby.
