Amidst controversies surrounding the film, Air India's flight purser exclusively speaks to BollywoodLife about Neerja and how he connected to it on a personal level. Read on.
Sonam Kapoor is riding high on all the critical and commercial success of Neerja. The film has got raving reviews for its plot and execution. Box office is also looking good for the movie. Amidst all this, a colleague of Neerja Bhanot was not happy with the film and said how Neerja's soul would cringe at this undeserved adulation. We got Mr Sunil Sharma, who has been a part of this industry since 11 years now, to speak to BollywoodLife on what he feels about the film. Incidentally, Mr Sharma has also been a part of a crisis operation in Yemen a few months ago. Here's what he feels about Neerja and the way the hijack situation was portrayed in the film.
"The film couldn't get any real. I absolutely loved the film and Sonam's performance in it. It was like I was a part of the hijack situation and not sitting in a movie theatre. I have heard of Neerja's story and was very inspired by it. It was great to see it coming live on screen. Also, technical know how in that period was not very advanced and it is shown brilliantly how Neerja manages to save lives despite that. I would also like to add that the makers have shown the dilemma (of leaving one's family for work) in a life of a flight purser quite accurately. Overall, it was an enriching, moving and personal experience to watch Neerja."
Well, it is truly amazing how the film is touching hearts of people everywhere. Kudos to Ram Madhvani, Atul Kasbekar and Sonam Kapoor and of course the brave heart Neerja.
