The song is reminiscent of a popular Arabic song of the '90s.
Akshay Kumar's much awaited gift for his fans in 2016 - Airlift - is already making news for its gripping promo and interesting premise. The film, directed by Raja Krishna Menon, is about one of world's biggest evacuation operations that happened during the Gulf War of the '90s where over 1 lakh Indians were rescued from Kuwait. The film stars Nimrat Kaur as Akshay Kumar's wife.
The makers have released a new song - Dil Cheez Tujhe Dedi - a lively fun number with a lot of Arabic influences. The catch tune is quite similar to the very famous Didi song in the early '90s by the Algerian pop singer Khaled (that was copied many a times by Bollywood!). The song is composed by Amaal Mallik, and sung by Ankit Tiwari and Arijit Singh.
The video of the song has Akshay Kumar, who is high on spirits, swaying to the beats of the song with some ravicious Arabic dancers. Nimrat Kaur, who looks pretty stunning in her red wine gown, is seen being serenaded by Akshay, as they play husband and wife in the film. Going by the scenes at the end of the song, it looks it is placed in the film right before the scene where Iraqi forces invade Kuwait!
