Though both Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn where in contention for the role, the director of Malayalam original claims that the role has fallen into Action Jackson actor's lap
Mohanlal’s Drishyam is hot property not just in the South but in Mumbai too. And it’s now confirmed that Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has bagged Mohanlal’s stellar role in Drishyam. According to the director Jeethu Joseph, Ajay is the chosen one for this project. The director announced it at IFFI recently which he is attending as a guest. However, Jeethu will not be directing the Hindi version as he is busy with other projects.
Now that Ajay has been confirmed for the project, we wonder who will take on the task of directing it in Hindi. There will be certain changes made to the script to suit local sensibilities – for instance, it is said that the hero’s sister will possibly be the victim in the Hindi version. The community angle will also be changed to suit the North audience.
