A week back, Akshay Kumar announced his new project Bachchan Pandey by sharing the first look of the film. He also revealed the release date of the film, which is December 2020. With this announcement, he confirmed that his masala entertainer will lock horns with Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha at the ticket windows. This news certainly created a lot of stir on social media and the industry experts are still figuring out whether the makers should avoid this clash or not. While we have to wait for the clarity on this Khiladi Akshay Kumar has finally reacted on this big battle of the box office.
He told Mumbai Mirror, "We have 52 Fridays in a year and even fewer holiday weekends. We make over 200 Hindi films a year while Hollywood releases 40 more and then there’s the South industry and other regional cinema. So, we should be happy if we have two big releases in a week. This year, on the Independence Day weekend we had three, (Mission Mangal, Batla House, and Saaho) till one bowed out." We agree with Akki, but we can't deny the fact, it would have been better if both the films had at least a gap of one week. What say?
Meanwhile, Akki is currently busy in promoting Mission Mangal. Talking about the film, Akshay Kumar plays a senior scientist, whose character is inspired by the group of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists who worked on the Mars Orbiter Mission. The film also stars Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Taapsee Pannu and Sharman Joshi in key roles.
