Akshay Kumar is owning the UAE box office like a king!
After Airlift managed to make an impression there, now Akshay Kumar's Rustom has taken UAE box office by storm.
In three days (since the film has released in UAE on Thursday), Rustom has managed to gross Rs 5.65 crores. For an Indian film, that's quite a decent figure to achieve, especially since it was released along with another biggie, Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro.
As per Taran Adarsh's tweet, the film has been 'unstoppable' at the UAE box office. He said, "#Rustom is UNSTOPPABLE in UAE-GCC... Thu AED 1 million, Fri AED 1.3 million, Sat AED 800,000. Total: AED 3.1 million [₹ 5.65 cr]."
The decrease in the collection on Saturday is because unlike in India, Saturday is a working day there. In domestic box office too, Rustom has been whipping up a storm by grossing over Rs 30 crores in just two days, while also making it the fourth highest opener at the box office in 2016. Salman Khan's Sultan still tops the list, though, followed by Shah Rukh Khan's FAN and Akshay Kumar's Housefull 3.
With Mohenjo Daro getting even worse reviews, Rustom is all set to trump over its biggest competitor and be a winner this weekend. However, since Rustom itself hasn't got any great reviews, we will have to see if the film continues its great run after the weekend is over.
