Akshay Kumar wins again...
Rustom is a film which everyone wanted to see for the fact that it brought alive a case which was widely covered in the 50s. The Nanavati incident shook the nation and what made it even more bizarre was Nanavati's walk to freedom despite surrendering to Police after committing the crime. Evidently, it arose interest in people then and still made people check it out today when a celluloid version was up for grabs. They didn't care that only next door, our history was getting fictionalised with Hrithik Roshan in the lead in a place called Mohenjo Daro. Resultant? A week later, Akshay stood tall at the theatres in his naval commander gear, while the saviour of the oldest civilization was nowhere to be seen.

Taran Adarsh tweeted the first week collections of both the films and there's a marked difference. While Rustom is on its way to the 100 crore club, Mohenjo Daro just managed to go past the 50 crore mark. Akshay's thriller took a good start from the start itself with 14. 11 cr while Hrithik's period love saga managed only 8. 87 cr. Since then it has been Rustom all the way and now after one week, Rustom has managed 90. 09 cr while Mohenjo Daro is at 51. 18 cr. Check out Taran Adarsh' tweets here.

Rustom will make 100 crore in its second weekend since there is hardly any film to give it competition. And as for Mohenjo Daro, it has already been termed the Bombay Velvet of 2016. So you can imaging where it is headed!
