It's been four years to Highway already! Highway was one of those Alia Bhatt films that was out of the box and a very unique love story. Not just the story and direction, but the songs from the film were also quite popular. Alia posted a still from the film and tweeted saying, "A film that changed my life. Will always always be so grateful for all the love the film got. Thank you #ImtiazAli @RandeepHooda #4YearsOfHighway". [sic] Alia and Randeep broke all stereotypes in the film and it was one of the most loved Imtiaz Ali films after Jab We Met.
Alia is one of those actors who gives more importance to the characters she plays rather than anything else. Yes, she has done a couple of commercial films and chick flicks like Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Student Of The Year, but she has also done films like Highway and Udta Punjab where she stood out. She never fails to impress us with her films. Alia is currently shooting for Brahmastra in Bulgaria with Ranbir Kapoor and Mouni Roy. The audience is pretty excited about the Ayan Mukherji film. One of the best things about Highway was that it didn't have a happy ending like most films do. I , personally, like films that do not have a cliched happy endings. It seems more realistic somehow. It's also a special film for Imtiaz who chose to make something as unconventional as Highway after the success of Jab We Met and Rockstar. What are your thoughts on this?
