After Rajinikanth, the Telugu star has now come forward to lend his support
By now, all of you must have known that Chennai is literally drowning under severe incessant rains.
Scary pictures of the city being battered by floods and non stop rains has shocked the nation. Schools, colleges, multinational companies and movie theatres are shut with water levels rising on roads to a dangerous level. With #Chennairains trending on Twitter for the entire day, the social media platform was filled with distressing tweets about people stuck in various areas of the city.
Meanwhile, movie stars have come forward to help the rain hit Chennai and to create more awareness about the grim state of affairs in the city. After Siddharth connected with national media to spread awareness about severity of Chennai rains, many celebs have come forward to donate money for relief works. Allu Arjun is the latest to join the bandwagon of actors who have contributed for relief work in Chennai. The Telugu superstar has donated over Rs 25 lakhs for the Chennai flood relief fund.
Even Rajinikanth has donated Rs 10 lakh for relief works in Chennai. It seems like more and more celebs will pitch in to contribute for the relief fund soon. Meanwhile, we pray and hope that rain gods show mercy on Namma Chennai!
