Alok Nath to essay the character of a judge in a film revolving around #MeToo

#MainBhi is set to hit the screens this year

Last year, we saw #MeToo movement making a huge wave, where many female actresses called out several sexual predators in the industry. Among them was Alok Nath, who was accused of rape by writer-director Vinta Nanda. Later, he was expelled by CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes Association) till further notice and was not allowed to do any shows or films post that. Interestingly, the actor has recently shot a movie titled #MainBhi (#MeToo) in Hindi. Reportedly, Alok Nath has essayed the character of a judge, who takes a strong stand against sexual harassment in the film. When Mumbai Mirror contacted the actor, he confirmed the news and said, “I’m not doing any films at the moment. This was something I shot for a while ago. Is there a problem? You sound sad that I’m doing a film. It’s a puny role for poor producers, let it release.” Khalid Siddiqui, who plays one of the leads in the film, talked about the plot of the film and said, “The film deals with child molestation, a subject that hasn’t been tapped on screen often, particularly with regard to boys. My character, along with the others, is affected by incidents that change our lives. We hope the film starts a debate on the subject."
