Kanye West and Kim Kardashian married in 2014 and had four children together: North, now 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, also 7. Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021, and their separation was finalized in November 2022. Just a month later, West married Bianca Censori.
Around that time, Kardashian opened up during an interview on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast about protecting her children from public drama. She shared that when driving them to school, if they wanted to hear West’s music, she would play it loudly and sing along, pretending nothing was wrong — only letting her emotions out once she was alone. “I definitely protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my kids,” she said.
After the divorce, West faced serious fallout. He lost major brand partnerships with Adidas, Gap, and Balenciaga following antisemitic comments he made on social media. The backlash grew stronger earlier this year when he released a song called Heil Hitler. The track sparked outrage worldwide.
In May, West appeared to show regret in a post on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “God forgive me for the pain I’ve caused… I simply got a FaceTime from my kids and I wanna save the world again.”
In Whose Name? is set to hit cinemas on 19 September, offering audiences a closer look at Kanye’s mistakes, his battles, and his search for redemption.
