What a gala time!
The most prestigious film awards ceremony of the country, the 63rd National Film Awards are taking place today. While we may be already aware of the winners list, we are still excited to see the ceremony unfold. Of course it is NATIONAL FILM AWARDS. The awards that still remains unfazed by glitz, glamour and camps. One, that truly appreciates talent and purely talent.
The ceremony is just about to begin, and amongst the stars who have arrived at the event include Amitabh Bachchan, Kalki Koechlin, and Kabir Khan.
Amitabh Bachchan will be presented a National Award for the fourth time. The Te3n actor has already won a National Award for best actor for Agneepath in 1990. His next two national award wins were bestowed upon him in 2005 and 2009 for Black and Paa respectively. This year he has won an award for Piku. Amitabh Bachchan played a Bengali father of Deepika Padukone in the film which garnered rave reviews and immense love from fans.
Actress Kalki Koechlin has won a special jury award at the 63rd National Film. Kalki was chosen by the jury for her amazing portrayal of a young woman with cerebral palsy in Sonali Bose’s film Margarita With a Straw. She had posted a video on Instagam stating her happiness over the win. She wrote,"I can't quite believe it yet that I have won the national award, I mean it's 'the award' it's the award of the nation. So, superb, I am so happy." The actress is looking gorgeous in a off white saree!
Remo D'Souza, who has won an award for his choreography in Bajirao Mastani has also arrived. He has shed his usual swagger avatar for the ceremony and has wore a royal sherwani. The choreographer is looking very handsome, and of course happy for his win.
