A source close to actor cleared air after the veteran actor was urged to boycott the biopic after the politician's controversial remarks on rape survivors ...
Grapevine was rife with rumours that veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan was roped in to play his once close political aide, Mulayam Singh Yadav. The politician is in the news, this time for his inappropriate remarks on rape survivors. And this has kickstarted a signature campaign, urging Mr Bachchan to boycott the biopic.
But brushing this request aside, a source very close to the Ki and Ka actor says that he has not even been approached to the film. "Mr Bachchan has not been approached for the film. He has not even made any statement to confirm these reports. This petition is pointless,” clarified the source in an interview to a tabloid.
A leading entertainment tabloid revealed on August 12 that Mr Bachchan will star in a biopic made on life and times of the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister. The source, determinedly, rubbishes this report and adds that nowadays anyone can come in the limelight by filing a petition.
What were Mulayam’s controversial remarks?
One commits rape and then four more are framed. Kabhi aisa ho sakta hai kya? Aisa practical hi nahin hai (How such a thing can happen? It is practically impossible)
