Notable film director Anurag Kashyap who was present at that 7th Jagran film festival today made many interesting revelations which were on point and made sense.
According to this director, the problem with many actors is that they spend a lot of time in comparing themselves with other actors rather than concentrating on their own work. For him, Shah Rukh Khan is one such actor who was instantly successful in the start of his career as he was not marred by his ego. Probably this is the reason why any other actor during his time couldn't achieve what he did!
"When Shah Rukh Khan came from Delhi, he became a star. Many who came after him couldn’t. He used to do small roles in theatres but people who used to do big roles couldn’t be stars. Star is a different thing, acting is a different thing, Problem starts when people start looking at themselves in third person when it comes to acting. Many actors’ career got over because even before doing anything, they started comparing,” Kashyap said. Also Read: Anurag Kashyap blames Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar for shutting down of film studios!
Ask him the reason why he never repeats any of his actors in the movies and he has a valid point. "I don’t repeat my actors. I find actors according to my roles and often the actors already have 50 per cen elements of the roles. Casting is also an art. No matter how big an actor you become, if your casting is not right, then you won’t go anywhere. The role, the casting and your talent, unless they match together, you will never feel you got in life what you deserve. This comes from personality and life experience,” he said. The director who was last seen in Sonakshi Sinha starrer Akira received rave reviews for his acting skills in the movie. The reason why we like and appreciate this director is coz of his frankness. He has always been vocal and open about his views be it on any subject. His views on the recent controversy surrounding the ban on Pakistani actors in India are also worth taking a note. According to this director, "Karan Johar said a very good thing. If you want to send Fawad Khan back, okay send him but what are the next five steps you’ll take? You tell me, what are the next five steps you will take after that? What problems will be solved after sending him? What will be your next step after sending him. At least tell us what are your next five steps." We like your view Anurag and hope that others too will appreciate it.
