Bollywood actor Aparshakti Khurana has garnered appreciation and accolades for his performance in the recently released hit film Stree. Apparently, the Dangal boy has now roped in to play a key role by the makers of Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer Jabariya Jodi. Aparshakti will portray Parineeti childhood friend in the comic caper. In an interview with the Indian Express, the actor confirmed the news and shared some details about his character.
"I play a guy who lives in the same compound as Parineeti. He is attracted to her, but she likes Sidharth's character. So it is a love triangle between us. The film has a fascinating premise of groom-kidnappings, which is very rampant in Bihar. We are shooting the film in Lucknow. I just flew back to Mumbai for the success party of Stree, after which I will resume shooting for Jabariya Jodi." Talking about Jabariya Jodi, the first look of the film received a good response from the audience on the social media. Sidharth, who essays the character of a Bihari Boy in the film expressed his happiness of playing various characters through films and said earlier, "It is always a great learning experience to portray various shades on-screen and this time with Jabariya Jodi, it is a desi avatar. Playing a Bihari boy will be very different as it is important to catch on a certain body language, put the accent correct with the right punches."
Directed by Prashant Singh, Jabariya Jodi was initially titled as Shotgun Shaadi. The core plot of the film is set in Patna, Bihar and is co-presented by Balaji Telefilms and Karma Media Entertainment.
BL Says: With Ayushmann Khurana coming on board, we definitely now expect more witty one-liners and comic punches in the film.
