Sultan Khan immediately realised his mistake
Bollywood’s superstar Salman Khan is known to speak straight from his heart. Sometimes he doesn’t even realise the effect of what he says and often ends up regretting later. I have sat in his interviews a number of times and he begins talking his heart out about something and later requests the journo to not use certain portions of the interview.
Something similar happened recently. I am talking about Salman's first interview with the print media for Sultan, where he was asked how difficult was is to shoot the wrestling sequences. To this Salman said, "While shooting, during those six hours, there’d be so much of lifting and thrusting on the ground involved. That was tough for me because if I was lifting, I’d have to lift the same 120-kilo guy 10 times for 10 different angles. And likewise, get thrown that many times on the ground. This act is not repeated that many times in the real fights in the ring. When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn’t walk straight. "But soon he realised what he said and said, “I shouldn't have said that, I didn’t mean literally, don’t use it”.
Dabangg Khan’s statement has indeed created a huge controversy and everyone is criticising him on social media for being an insensitive man. However a few journos stood in his support and claimed that his statement was twisted and the other part which he said 'I shouldn’t have said it' was not used. While Bollywoodlife got in touch with a senior journalist who was present at the interview, she said, “ Yes I was there, he immediately corrected himself and said I didn’t literally mean it what I said, please don’t use it otherwise”.
