Vfx is also not very shabby considering its a Kollywood movie
The Siddharth, Trisha starrer Aranmanai 2 has finally hit the screens. The movie, just like the first part sticks to the horror comedy niche. The story is about a family living in a sprawling mansion who face a series of paranormal activities. Siddharth plays Murli, the second son of a rich village elder who suddenly becomes comatose. Sid and his would be wife Anita played by Trisha are forced to return after the tragic mishap.
A nurse is appointed to take care of the comatose elder which is played by Poonam Bajwa who is involved in some shady rituals. Things spiral out of control when the driver, is killed by some unknown force and Murli is found on the scene of crime and is arrested. Enter Ravi, elder brother of Anita played by Sundar C who arrives for his sister's wedding but is intrigued by the mysterious happenings in the household.
The horror elements are clichéd and predictable with a kid staring creepily, predictable jump scares and whole tantrik- ghost package. But the highlight is the comedy, which is done expertly well by Suri and veteran actress Kovai Sarala. The duo are well supported by Mano Bala and the comic timing of the trio is one of the best part about Aranmanai 2 so far. Vfx is also not very shabby considering its a Kollywood movie.
Hopefully the plot thickens and the scare factor intensifies as the movie progresses.
