The Walk, an IMAX thriller, is directed by Robert Zemeckis.
In 1974, French high-wire artist Philippe Petit did what no human ever dreamed to do - he walked on a single rope that connected two of the highest buildings ever built, the Twin towers of the World Trade Center! Before the feat, people called him mad, a lucnatic, even his supporters and friends could barely believe he could achieve it!
Yet the man did the impossible!
And this Friday, we have a film that replicates and celebrates one of the most amazing feats known to mankind! Robert Zemeckis, better known as the director for the Back To The Future series and Forrest Gump, has made a film on Philippe Petit's most famous 'walk'. The Walk, stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the high-wire artiste, who sets to achieve the impossible with his set of ragtag but dedicated friends. The movie follows his journey to achieve that nearly impossible task, as he dreams, plans, works and executes the feat, while facing a lot of obstacles!
The movie is shot in IMAX, so expect some dazzling shots that will literally take your breath away, as you would feel you are also taking that walk with the hero!
Also, as the movie is set in 1974, careful detailing has been done to make sure the movie resembles that era. Since we do not have World Trade Center with us anymore after the dreaded 2001 attacks, the makers also had to recreate the buildings from the scratch and their eye for detailing surely shows in the trailers.
The films also stars Charlotte Le Bon, Ben Kingsley and James Badge Dale. Please make sure that you watch this film in IMAX itself, and if you still need more persuasion, get ready to be mesmerised by the below trailer,
