In a new development, Agisilaos Demetriades, the brother of Gabriella Demetriades has got bail in the drug case. Model cum fashion designer, Gabreilla Demetriades is the partner of Arjun Rampal. He was taken into custody by the NCB after hashish and alprazolam was found at his premises. It seems he had managed to secure bail in October, but then the NCB caught him in another case. The special Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Court granted him bail on a surety of Rs 50,000. It seems he has been told to deposit his passport and not leave Mumbai without informing them.
The people who were named in the drug case have all got bail. Rhea Chakraborty got bail after spending a month in Byculla Women Prison. However, her brother Showik Chakraborty had to spend three months in jail for his direct contact with people who were dealing with drugs. Others like Zaid Vilatra, Abdul Basit Parihar, Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant and Suryadeep Malhotra also got bail in the matter. Rhea Chakraborty and her brother, Showik said that he did not consume drugs. However, the admitted that they helped late Sushant Singh Rajput procure drugs for his alleged consumption.
The NCB has said that Agisilaos was a member of a Bollywood drug syndicate. It seems he was arrested under Section 27 (Punishment for financing illicit traffic and harbouring offender), which is the most stringent one. They have said that he runs a marketing company in India. They are investigating if the agency is a foil for international drug trade in India.
After the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, the Enforcement Directorate began investigating his accounts. While doing so, they discovered the drug chats. Marijuana was discussed in the conversations. This is when the NCB zeroed in on the matter. As of now, electronic gadgets of many stars have been sent for data extraction.
