Baaghi 2 held the record for the highest opening day grosser of the year 2018. The Tiger Shroff starrer actioner got beaten up by the box office numbers of Avengers: Infinity War. While Baaghi 2 was able to mint Rs 25.10 crore at the box office, Avengers: Infinity War has the celebratory opening collections of Rs 31.13 crore. Phenomenal! Baaghi 2 won't be the only one that has been beaten by the Hollywood superhero action movie. Movies like Padmaavat, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dangal have suffered the same fate. If AIW keeps up its pace, it will definitely become the highest weekend grosser of 2018. Not to forget that it has already become the highest Hollywood opener, beating previous record holder Furious 7.
Just yesterday, Tiger Shroff was posting on his social media about going to watch Avengers Infinity War. He is a big fan of the franchise. In fact, he was the one who voiced Spide-Man/Peter Parker in the previous MCU film Homecoming (2017). “It is like my childhood dream come true because I have been a big fan of many superheroes, especially Spider-Man. This is actually my half dream come true, I really want to be Spider-Man one day, this is one step closer,” he had said in 2017. He also added, “I had to portray two alter egos in the movie, one of Peter Parker and the other of Spider-Man of course. To get into the character I used to wear the Spider-Man mask while dubbing, and while doing action sequences I was moving and shouting like Spider-Man and responding to the hits. I felt like I was Spider-Man, it was a great experience lending my voice for Spider-Man in India.” (ALSO READ: Avengers: Infinity War - 5 unanswered questions in the movie that are leaving us restless)
BollywoodLife absolutely loved the movie. We wrote in our 4.5-star review, “This movie is a must-watch. Avengers: Infinity War gets silly when it tries to pack humour at places where you feel like crying your heart out. It gets unimaginably passionate when it brings our mighty heroes and the vicious villain face-to-face. And goes without saying that it crushes your heart by the time it ends. As I was saying in the opening…Avengers: Infinity War is passionate, silly, and heartbreaking – just like first love!”
