Ayushmann Khurrana is talent extraordinaire and there's no two ways about it. The breakout actor, who has carved a niche for himself with his choices and filmography, is one of the finest Bollywood has to offer today. Like that wasn't enough, he is easily the husband of one's dreams. The way he has supported his wife Tahira Kashyap in her ongoing battle with breast cancer, it is not only endearing but extremely inspiring at the same time. Ayushmann Khurrana might have borrowed Tahira's never-give-up attitude and it's lovely to see them hold the fort and fight cancer with indomitable courage. The actor recently, in an interview with Rajeev Masand, opened up about how the disease reared its ugly head on his birthday last year. He said, "It was very difficult. In fact, thanks to her that she was brave enough to take that positively otherwise I would have broken, completely. Because I was in the middle of two films I was promoting AndhaDhun and Badhaai Ho. And we got to know about this on my birthday. In fact, we saw Manmarziyaan that day... we saw Manmarziyaan on September 14 and we got to know of this disease."

Not just that, Ayushmann also spoke about Tahira's reaction to the episode and revealed, "She was like 'I want to just celebrate my life. I'll take it head on and we are together in this both fighting the disease and also in promoting the films.' So, it was a collective effort from both sides. But I am glad she's overcome this and as we speak she's giving a lecture on cancer, how to fight, how to combat it. She's a leader now to cancer patients and an inspiration." And we couldn't agree more.
On the work front, Ayushmann will be next seen in Dream Girl opposite Nushrat Bharucha, which is scheduled to release on September 13. He has also finished shooting for Anubhav Sinha's Article 15, where he is playing a cop. Apart from that, Ayushmann also has Bala with Bhumi Pednekar, which is produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films. The film will feature Ayushmann as a prematurely balding guy and Bhumi as a dusky, small-town girl. Bala will be directed by Amar Kaushik who directed one of this year’s biggest hits, the horror-comedy Stree. Stay tuned to BL for more updates and scoops!
