A few minutes back, we got the breaking news that Akshay Kumar's Laxxmi Bomb will release in Eid next year and will lock horns with Salman Khan untitled venture. And now we have one more clash from Bollywood. The makers of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala just released the quirky teaser along with the release date, which is November 22 and on the same date, Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh's Marjaavaan is also hitting the screens.
Interestingly, Marjaavaan was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on October 2 but later postponed to November 22. Revealing that extensive VFX was one of the core reasons for it, co-producer Nikkhil Advani told Mumbai Mirror, "It is important that we give Marjaavaan a suitable release. We’re proud of Milap’s inimitable filmmaking style and unique language that we expect will exceed audience expectations." On the other hand, co-producer Bhushan Kumar added, "The film needs this kind of VFX especially with Riteish as a dwarf."
Talking about his character, director Milap Zaveri further said, "We decided to make his villain a three-foot-tall but larger-than-life midget with a wicked sense of humour. His Vishnu is arrogant and thinks he is invincible." The filmmaker also informed that there is an analogy of Lord Vishnu’s fifth avatar, Vaaman, who was also a dwarf, in the film.
The director also shared the technical challenges that they faced while filming Riteish' scenes and said, "We shot Riteish’s scenes against the green screen and without it for perspective. His eyeline has to match that of others so Riteish shot looking up, while his co-stars looked down. We couldn’t use two-three camera setups for Riteish’s scenes as we did for others. So, every shot had to be taken five times."
