The ace director was attending the National Film Awards
When one thinks of an Indian film with an international presence, the first movie that comes to mind is Baahubali: The Beginning. The Telugu movie became one of the biggest movies the country has ever seen. But, the success didn't just stop there. It is gaining recognition all across Europe, Japan and China. So a director of such a phenomenal film will surely have ambitious Hollywood plans now right? Well, not really!
Director SS Rajamouli, who was attending the National Film Awards ceremony in Delhi, clarified to an entertainment website that he has no plans of heading to Hollywood any time soon. He is a man who believes in living in the moment and right now, all he can think about is delivering Baahubali 2 to the audience who are eagerly awaiting it.
Also, he added that it was his grandmother's tales that he heard growing up which inspired him to take up Baahubali. Rajamouli wants to display India in its glory days when kings and queens ruled the land. Moreover, he stated that he is really interested in displaying the stories of more royal figures like Akbar, Ashoka and many others.
Well, as disappointing as it is to hear that the ace director will not collaborate with Hollywood, there is still time for a change of heart, for the film is gaining such recognition globally that it might become necessary to capitalise on this success. Meanwhile, Baahubali: The Beginning will now be releasing in France in early June.
