John Abraham has picked up another unconventional and real-life incident for his next which is based on the famous Batla House incident. Directed by Nikhil Advani, the film will have John playing a cop. Batla House is scheduled to be released on August 15, but before the release, the film faced some pressure from various ends. There were petitions filed against Batla House in Delhi High Court and the petitioners wanted to stall the release of the film. But the High Court has now given its go ahead to the film but with few changes. John Abraham revealed that the Court has given its consent to release the film after hearing the petitions and the makers' version. In a long and heartfelt note, John revealed that he and his team is thankful to the court and promised to the audience that the film would be a good watch.
Speaking about how much Batla House means to him, John recently said that the film is not just about an encounter but about multiple people. "To me, 'Batla House' is not just a film about the most controversial encounter in recent times, an incident that got twisted and turned to suit different political agendas. It is a much bigger human story of DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who went through excruciating personal turmoil in the line of duty," John said recently.
John also revealed that he tried to bring about in the character he plays in Batla House, Sanjeev Yadav, and what moved him the most. "Often in such cases, we just focus on the professional side of a person's life, forgetting the effect it has on their mental wellbeing. The post-trauma stress that Sanjeev Yadav went through, and his struggle to come to terms with it and rise above it, make for an inspiring journey, and I have tried to encapsulate it in the character I play," John added further.
