After releasing the intriguing posters, the makers of Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu have dropped the trailer of the film today, and we must say it looks like an eye-opener. The promo starts on a quirky note, where we see locals who think that the load-shedding is a part of their life and they don't have any other option, but to accept and live with it. The satirical scene, where they play a game of aiming the target with bow and arrow in the darkness, grabs our attention. The cute chemistry between Shraddha and Shahid looks breezy and entertaining.
But the second half of the trailer takes a serious turn when Divyendu Sharma commits suicide due to electricity scam in which he gets the bill of Rs 54 lakh. Shahid Kapoor decides to bring justice to Divyendu and turns lawyer for that. The only thing which we didn't like is the screen time given to Yami Gautam. It is too little! The face-off between Shahid and her could have been shown in a much better way. Though the makers might have thought of keeping her as a surprise element in the film. Overall, the trailer of the film looks promising and has the potential to score well at the box office because of its relevant subject.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is directed by Shree Narayan Singh, who previously helmed Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which was a successful venture at the box office. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Shree Narayan Singh, Nitin Chandrachud, Kusum Arora and Nishant Pitti. How did you like the trailer of the film?
