In this era of saas, bahu and supernatural, it is rare to see a comedy show making so much waves. Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain made a lot of headlines with one of the lead actresses, Shilpa Shinde walking out of the show due to differences with the producers. A lot of hullabaloo ensued with both parties blaming each other. The makers said that Shilpa was behaving in this manner as she wanted to leave the show for The Kapil Sharma Show. CINTAA tried to intervene but they refused to come to a truce.

However, the makers have now confirmed that actress Shubhangi Atre Poorey will play the role of Angoori. The actress is best known as Kasturi from the hit Balaji show. She has a varied repertoire of work that includes negative and comic roles as well. According to the producers, they zeroed in on her after auditioning 80 actresses. They feel Shubhangi has the right mix of innocence and hotness that made Angoori such a loveable character.
The rest of the cast is the same Aasif Sheikh, Saumya Tandon and Rohitash Gaur. Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain is inspired by the hit show, Shriman Shrimati where two neighbours lusted over each other’s wives. It is set in Kanpur with Angoori as a simple housewife and Anita (Saumya) as a grooming coach. Do you feel Shubhangi is an ideal replacement?
