'Yuvraj told me he smoked pot', Bigg Boss 10 contestant Akansha Sharma's shocking revelation !

Yuvraj Singh’s ex-sister in law Akanksha Sharma’s entry in Salman Khan's controversial reality show Bigg Boss 10 was a dhamakedaar one. The lady spoke about her troubled marriage (she was married to Yuvraj Singh's brother Zorawar) right at the outset inviting a retort from Yuvraj Singh’s mother, Shabnam. We chatted with Akanksha post her eviction and here’s all she said. Excerpts…

How was your experience inside the Bigg Boss 10 house?
It was wonderful, unusual and an once-in-a-lifetime experience. I got to learn a lot from my stay. I grew as a person. I was exposed to different mind-sets and ideologies inside the house. I evolved as a person. It was something that does not happen in an ordinary person’s house.

What did you do after coming out of the house?
The first thing I did was that I gave an interview with Voot.

We are seeing that the Indiawale and celebrities are maintaining safe distance. Do you see them bonding better in the coming weeks?

I hope they do. It will happen eventually when the game is played between individuals. They will merge together then. We saw how Mona Lisa and Manu got friendly even Manveer is opening up a bit. As of now, people are more comfortable keeping the boundaries in mind. They feel safer that way.

You spoke about your troubled past marriage on TV. Yuvraj Singh’s mom Shabnam has refuted your claims. In fact she has said it is subjudice?
Firstly, it wasn’t a marriage in the right sense. I was married only in paper. There was nothing in that relationship. I haven’t lied and I am pretty sure of whatever I have said. Nothing happened in my marriage. I am not backing off from what I said. Saying that matter is sub-judice is the safest thing to do. `

Your former mom-in-law Shabnam Singh has said you were into substance abuse…
As far as substance abuse goes, it was there in their family too. Whatever I did was with them. I smoked pot with my husband. Yuvi also told me he smoked pot. It is a very common thing in the industry. My mother-in-law now needs to say something to justify herself.

She also said that she went with you on your honeymoon to protect you?
Ok…It might be one way to protect. People in a marriage, an arranged marriage need space to connect with each other. Our honeymoon was conveniently fixed in Dubai where the IPL was happening. She would not miss it at any cost. It was not like my husband and I were living separately in a hotel. We lived in an apartment where I was doing my routine chores like cooking and cleaning. It was a family moon. It was not a honeymoon for me.

She is saying that they might consider legal action against you…
I think I have right to speak if I am wronged in this manner. There is freedom of speech in this country. I wanted to cast light on an issue that is faced by millions of women the world over. There is this old school of thought when a woman is seen as an accomplice or sidekick in a family. Her only job is to serve. She has no rights or freedom to do things on her own. There were three people in my marriage. My mom-in-law would constantly butt in and pry in my private life. My husband was a 26-year-old man who was driven around by his mother and I was with them. Would you like it if your mother-in-law dropped and picked you up from parties? Is that someone’s idea of marriage!

Do you want to pursue a career in the entertainment industry?
I did a course in Mumbai from Anupam Kher’s An actor Prepares. I was here for a year. Even before I had the chance to work with the cream of the industry but I chose to enter through my own hard work.

Is your family connected to the industry?
No…my dad was in the Army.

Would you take up a film or TV offer post Bigg Boss?

If you find some offers just call me.

We saw a budding friendship between Gaurav Chopra and you. Will you continue as friends?

I am so glad you are the first person who is saying it is just friendship and nothing apart. Others are insinuating that we have a special connection. We were getting to know each other as friends. Two weeks is too short a time to decide if you like someone or not.

Whom did you like from the celebs?

I was very fond of Lopamudra Raut and VJ Bani and also Rohan Mehra. Karan Mehra and Rahul Dev were nice too. Gaurav is also chilled out as a person.

Would you re-enter as a wild card?

Why not why not….
