He has done it again. The sensational dancer from Assam Bir Radha Sherpa has won Star Plus' dance reality show, Dance Champions. As per a report in Indian Express, Bir beat the likes of MJ 5 Group, Piyush Bhagat, Sushant Khatri, Faisal Khan and Vaishnavi Patil to clinch the trophy. This is his second straight win on the show. Dance Champions was judged by Remo D'Souza and contemporary dance expert, Terence Lewis. The show did not enjoy a huge viewership like Dance Plus 3 but slowly picked up momentum. Bir hails from Assam and is a freestyle dance expert. His ultimate goal is to represent India on the international platform.
In a statement to Indian Express, he said, "I want to learn as much as I can. There is a long way to go. I want to train myself hard and represent India on international platforms. I want to show the world that it doesn’t matter where you come from, talent and hard work will always show you the way.” The young man did not go home to Assam after Dance Plus 3 and stayed back in Mumbai for Dance Champions. Raised by a single parent, he says he owes his success to his mother, Radha.
In an earlier interview to Bollywood Life, he said, "Dance for me is life, I am coming on Dance Champion. I have already started rehearsing. I can practice every given day for n number of hours. That matters more than parties or anything else. But we will celebrate when I go to Silchar. I hope to make Assam and Northeast proud on the International map. I wish to shine in the World of Dance championships. My biggest support is my mother who has been there with me throughout my journey. I want to be successful for her."
