As every film, TV and web series shoot across the country has come to a standstill due to the ongoing lockdown, the question on the everyone's mind within the industry is when will work begin to resume. And with talks of the lockdown being relaxed if not being called off in a week or two, these talks have gained more traction over the coming days. In fact, Akshay Kumar recently shooting for a TVC with at Kamalistan studio for the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, under every possible safety measure and amidst a limited crew, has raised hopes of other shoots also slowly making a comeback.
Now, Ashok Dubey, FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) general secretary, has shed more light on the subject in an interview to ETimes, even stating that Alia Bhatt and Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi could possibly be the first film to resume shooting post lockdown. “Sanjay Leela Bhansali was already shooting in Filmcity and his set is still there. So the possibility is that his movie will be the first to resume shoot with the necessary precautions, once the permission is granted by CM. Boney Kapoor ji’s film was being shot in Madh Island, his sets have been covered and he may begin shoot once the lockdown ends. A lot of filmmakers have kept their sets intact, waiting to start shoot post lockdown.”
Speaking about Akshay's TVC, Dubey added, “Jugal Kishore is the director for this, they had written a letter to CP and he granted them the permission. They shared the details with us and we also agreed that they could shoot with the necessary precautions. This is a government advertisement so we also didn’t disturb them. They abided by the rules of the government and completed the shoot with minimum crew. They had a sanitiser tunnel, masks, gloves, all the norms were followed according to the government.”
Well, fingers crossed that things slowly return to normal for the film and TV industries.
