In 2018, Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour and it sent shock waves across the film industry and the entire country. The actor was away from the films for a while as he was undergoing treatment for his illness. Now, he is currently doing well and gearing up for the release of Angrezi Medium, which also stars Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepak Dobriyal and Dimple Kapadia. Talking about his current state of mind and his health, Irrfan, who otherwise avoided media interactions, told Hindustan Times, "Honestly, I don’t know; I really don’t know. While some days are great, others are bad. Most of the time, I think I am cleaning the clutter away from the noise."
On being asked if he is feeling nervous or excited ahead of the film's release, the Lunchbox star said, "To be honest, all my anxiety has been exhausted with the roller-coaster ride of this disease. I am content that we have been able to make a happy film. So, the answer is: no, I am not nervous. I am just happy and nothing else."
The actor further revealed that it took some time for him to get into a proper zone and act in front of the camera. Agreeing to director Homi Adjania's words, Irrfan quipped, "Yes, Homi is absolutely right. That’s exactly what I felt but then, I intentionally kept it that way. I did not use any technique (of acting) which I had used earlier. I have approached acting very differently in Angrezi Medium. Now, you all should watch it, and tell me if it worked or not."
Before signing off, Irrfan mentioned that he really likes working with Dinesh Vijan and that he stood rock solid for him and that's a huge comfort zone for him.
We hope, Irrfan always stays in the pinkest of his health. Talking about Angrezi Medium, it releases on March 13.
