Versatile actor Pankaj Tripathi who is highly praised for his uncommon choices is now teaming up once again with Sajid Nadiadwala for Bachchan Pandey after working with the acclaimed producer in Super 30 and 83’. This will mark the first time that Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi will be sharing screen space together. A source close to the development said, “While Kriti Sanon and Pankaj have earlier worked in Lukka Chuppi (also in Bareilly Ki Barfi and Dilwale, though the two didn't have any together in the latter), Pankaj and Akshay will be teaming up for the first time.”
He further added, “Both Akshay and pankaj are known for their comic timing and unusual choices and one cannot wait to see the creativity that both these actors create on screen. Pankaj will be joining Akshay, Kriti, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arshad Warsi in Jaisalmer from January onward. It was Sajid Sir & Farhad Sir’s idea to rope him for a pivotal role which will add a lot of humour to the storyline. It’s a huge ensemble cast which will be shooting together for 90 days, it’s going to be a roller coaster ride.”
Opening up about his character in the movie while also revealing some inside scoop on it, Arshad Warsi recently tol BollywoodLife in an exclusive interview, “In Bachchan Pandey, you'll see Kriti and me in a lot of portions together, then there's Akshay and me in a lot of portions together. So, I'm going to be having a great time with Kriti because we're going to go nuts as we have some very inane and bizarre scenes, which are extremely funny and hilarious and crazy. Then I have crazy scenes with Akshay, too, which are again going to be nuts. I was looking forward to working with Akshay because we are like peas in a pod — same kind of sense of humour, bizarre madeness, and I think he's outstanding, he's extremely funny. I think Bachchan Pandey is going to be good fun, yaar, for people to watch as I know the scenes and I can see Akshay doing it. And if you know what I'm doing in the film, people can see me doing it. I'll give you a hint: I'm playing a struggling tapori actor... see what I mean (laughs, when we tell that we can only imagine what he'll do with the role). I'm playing a total Mumbaiyaa, total local guy, and also a bad actor. So you can image what is going to happen. It'll be great fun.”
Akshay Kumar plays a gangster in the film while Kriti Sanon plays a journalist, and Arshad Warsi, a tapori, who's also a bad, struggling actor. The twist in the tale occurs when the former two meet and discover their common passion for cinema. Bachchan Pandey will hit screens in 2021.
