A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrived in Mumbai yesterday to investigate Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. They began working this morning. According to reports, the team took the actor’s cook Neeraj into custody for interrogation. They also took over important evidence from the Mumbai police, including the post-mortem report of the actor.
A few days ago, the Supreme Court directed the CBI to take over the case. Soon after the verdict, the Deputy CM of Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi, welcomed this decision and tweeted, "We welcome the decision of Supreme Court to allow CBI to continue with its probe of Sushant death case on the basis of FIR filed in Bihar. Our stand vindicated.#SushantSingRajput."
The lawyer of Sushant Singh's father, Vikas Singh, said, "It is a very important day for Sushant's family and his fans all over the world. SC accepted all our points, it also held that what Maharashtra Police was doing was in a limited scope." Lok Janshakti Party's chief Chirag Paswan expressed his concern for SSR's family and said, "Not only the truth will surface now but those name will also come out who were behind disrupting the investigation in the case. I hope the Court's order has brought relief to Sushant's family."
Swara Bhasker stated that the public should let the judiciary do its job, “The public is not the judiciary. There's a justice system. It is the judiciary that does the job and we should allow it to do its work. I have said this before, too, I have even tweeted about this. I can't comment about others tweeting or putting out other social-media posts (for Sushant Singh Rajput), but all I know is that we should wait for the CBI enquiry to take its course and not jump to conclusion till the judiciary reached a verdict.”
