This year just keeps getting worse. Force and Drishyam director Nishikant Kamat is no more. He was 50 and suffering from liver cirrhosis. Riteish Deshmukh took to Twitter and wrote, “I will miss you my friend. #NishikantKamat Rest In Peace.” He also uploaded a picture of him with the filmmaker.

A few hours ago, Riteish tweeted that the filmmaker was alive and fighting when some media publications reported that filmmaker had passed away. Nishikant direted Riteish in Lai Bhaari.
Earlier today, a medical bulletin from the hospital said that the filmmaker was on a ventilator. "Currently on ventilator support and continues to be in critical condition," read the bulletin.
A week ago, a statement from the hospital read: "He has been diagnosed with chronic liver disease and other secondary infections. He is in the intensive care unit for continuous monitoring under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team of senior consultants comprising of Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, Critical Care and others. His condition is critical but stable."
Nishikant directed Bollywood movies like Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer Drishyam, Irrfan Khan starrer Madaari and the John Abraham starrers, Force and Rocky Handsome among others along with critically acclaimed Marathi films like his debut directorial, Dombivali Fast, and the Riteish Deshmukh starrer, Lai Bhaari. He was also the Creative Producer on last year's web series The Final Call.
This year has been terrible for the film industry. Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, and Sushant Singh Rajput all left us. A few days ago, the hospital where Sanjay Dutt was admitted confirmed that the actor is suffering from stage 4 lung cancer. “Fluid had accumulated in his lungs and because of that he was having breathing trouble. The fluid samples were sent for testing. Doctors said it could be tuberculosis or cancer. The reports on Wednesday confirmed that Sanjay is suffering from stage 4 lung cancer,” said a source from the hospital.
