Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide at his Mumbai home today and the news has shocked us beyond words. We are still not able to digest the news and reporting the same is really heartbreaking. His eyes twinkled when he smiles and his journey from a small town to being a heartthrob in the TV and film industry has been inspiring and touching. A crowd has gathered below the actor's residence and police have reached his apartment as well. A lot of people are trying to come to terms with this sudden loss.
Ironically, Sushant Singh Rajput's last film, Chhichhore health with suicidal thoughts. We reached out to the director, Nitesh Tiwari who couldn't believe the news. He was in a huge shock and his immediate mindset now is, "Having directed Sushant in his film, I can say that he was a very happy soul, full of energy, full of life. I don't even know (pauses)...it's too shocking for me to even believe it. I don't know how to react. I don't really know what to say. It's a personal loss for me. So, I seriously don't know what to say," Nitesh Tiwari told BollywoodLife.com
Here's what the filmmaker has to say on art imitating life in Chhichhore, "It's very ironical, is what I would say."
When asked whether he had any idea of Sushant being sequestered and in self-destructive mode since someday, the filmmaker was at loss. "I have absolutely no idea about this."
When asked whether he would be attending the funeral or meeting the family, the director said, "I'm trying to figure that out because the times are very tough right now; drivers are not coming. I'm still trying to figure it if I can go."
Sushant, rest in peace. But we hope you would have listened to Anni once.
