Right now, the country is battling a lot of things. Adding to it is the debate of nepotism, lobbying, camp-ism and mental health. The debate was triggered after the unfortunate suicide of former Television and Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He had made her debut with Kai Po Che and went on to star in some of the successful films like MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Chhichhore, PK to name a few. Sushant was found hanging by the ceiling on 14th June 2020. His fans are enraged and have demanded CBI inquiry for the same. They had even started a trend to boycott Bollywood films to bring justice to Sushant.
Talking about nepotism, insider-outsider debate, Sushant Singh Rajput's Sonchiriya costar Manoj Bajpayee, recently opened up saying that the term is a recent development. "That’s a very recent development. I was telling somebody in my interview that it’s not an age old phenomenon. Though Raj Kapoor was the son of Prithviraj Ji, though Rishi Ji was the son of Mr Raj Kapoor, it was never a talk. Each and every actor no matter how small or big they were, they were all considered a part of the industry," Pinkvilla quoted the actor.
Further, the actor said that he had to do everything on his own and in his own way so as to stay in the industry. "The kind of films that I do, they don’t make it, the kind of directors that I work with they are either new or people who are completely from independent genre or they are struggling to make a name for themselves. So hardly I have worked with anyone who came from the thick of the fraternity that they talk about. My whole effort was to do my thing in my own way, away from them."
Sushant Singh Rajput had opened up about nepotism earlier in an interview and said that one could coexist given the worthy don't lose out on the opportunities.
