Akshay Kumar is one great man. The actor has been donating funds and helping people in need financially in any way he can. The Novel Coronavirus has been claiming lives all across the globe and just in India about one lakh fifty thousand people have been tested positive for COVID-19. The number of people who lost the battle to COVID-19 is more than 4,500. And now the Rustom actor has donated some more to the daily wage earners. Akshay has contributed to the Cine & TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) for the wagers who are suffering due to the lockdown as a result of the pandemic.
"We are grateful to Akshay for helping in such trying times," Amit Behl who is senior joint secretary, CINTAA told Mid-Day in a statement. "The initiative was taken up by executive committee member and actor Ayub Khan. He roped in Jaaved Jaaferi to help connect with Sajid Nadiadwala and Akshay Kumar," Behl added.
"Without any delay, Akshay Kumar requested for the list of our members. We have been receiving messages of gratitude from the 1,500 daily wagers he helped. They have assured us that they will do whatever is needed to help the members," Amit further told the portal. Akshay Kumar and Sajid Nadiadwala have transferred Rs 3000 in each person's account.
Hitherto, Akshay has donated Rs 25 crore to PM's relief fund for COVID-19 and additional Rs 2 crore to Mumbai Police Foundation, and Rs 3 crore to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). His funds have helped in making facilities of masks, PPE kits and other testing kits it's available to the healthcare sector in India.
"I had nothing when I started and now that I am in this position, how can I hold back from doing whatever I can for those who have nothing," the Sooryavanshi actor had told his wife when she had asked him about liquidating huge sum as Rs 25 crore on short notice.
