Bollywood news: Deepika Padukone is in troubled waters. The actress is receiving flack on social media for asking a TikTok influencer to recreate three of her looks from her films- Piku, Om Shanti Om and Chhapaak. Social media users slammed the actress for her referring an acid attack survivor's face as a 'look'. She is being brutally trolled for her TikTok video. And a lot of people including Kangana Ranaut want Deepika to issue an apology. For the unversed, Kangana Ranaut's sister, Rangoli Chandel, is an acid attack survivor and she was really hurt after watching DP's TikTok video.
Reacting to the social media outrage on Deepika Padukone's video, Kangana told India Today, "Rangoli is an acid attack survivor and she was very hurt seeing the video. Sometimes, marketing teams tend to go overboard with their promotions, and I am sure Deepika must be having some explanation for this." She further stated that Deepika needs to apologise to the acid attack survivors who are hurt as well. "The people who are hurt like my sister should be apologised to. This is not a make-up look and nobody should try and achieve it. That kind of insensitivity should be apologised for and there is no harm in doing that because we all make mistakes," she said.
Before commenting on Deepika's TikTok video, the actress had opened up on the Chhapaak actress' visit to JNU. "I think women should support women and I am not somebody to comment on what Deepika has done or should have done. She was exercising her democratic right, but if I were given the choice I would never stand behind the Tukde Tukde gang," she had told Spotboye. Now, it remains to be seen how Deepika will react to social media outrage on her own video.
As far as Kangana Ranaut is concerned, her film, Panga, releases this Friday (January 24).
