Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal were earlier slated to get married in April this year only for the coronavirus pandemic to put a spoke in their plans. Any hope that the situation would get better in time for a wedding date later this year was put to rest as COVI-19 spread like wild fire and the situation, though somewhat under control now, isn't favourable for a lavish wedding. Unfortunately, Ali's mother also passed away in Lucknow on 17th July, and his big Hollywood movie, Death on the Nile, is also scheduled to release on 23rd October, which makes any marriage plans in 2020 highly unlikely.
Well, Richa Chadha finally came clean on when she and Ali Fazal are likely to tie the knot next in an interview with Bombay Times. “Yes, it is unlikely that we will get married this year, because the pandemic is far from over. We would not like to endanger anyone due to our celebration. It is only wise to wait for the vaccine. This was inevitable. There’s nothing we could do to control this, so we took a sensible decision. In the second week of March itself, we had decided that we won’t get married in these conditions. People travelling would face a health risk and safety is most important right now,” said the Fukrey actress.
In an earlier interaction with BT about her wedding, Ali Fazal had said, “Of course, it is a bit disheartening because we were all geared up, and preparations were on in full swing, but it is fine. The idea is to celebrate our special day with people close to us - our friends and family. Once things settle down and when the time is right, hopefully, we will come back and the new world will celebrate with us. I don’t know what kind of wedding celebration it will be now, given the new norms, but let’s see.”
Well, fans of the couple just have to adopt a wait-and-watch policy now.
