Well, in latest developments in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer has denied that she consumed drugs. “Rhea has never consumed drugs in her life ever. She is ready for a blood test,” her lawyer Satish Maneshinde said. This was after reports of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probing a money-laundering angle into the death of Sushant. The ED has now referred some evidence to the CBI and the Narcotics Control Bureau about her alleged links to banned drugs, a charge vehemently denied by her lawyer.
The officials said the central probe agency stumbled upon certain data and these “prima facie” inputs have been shared with the two federal agencies but did not give any details of the nature of evidence referred to the agencies.
Sushant Rajput’s father, K K Singh filed an FIR on July 25 with the Bihar Police in Patna against Rhea, her father Indrajit Chakraborty, mother Sandhya Chakraborty, brother Showik, Rajput’s manager Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi and unknown persons accusing them of cheating and abetting his son’s suicide.
Yesterday, Rhea’s team had refuted claims that she was summoned by the CBI. "Dear Friends, Rhea Chakraborty & Fly (Family) have not received any summons from CBI so far to attend. No sooner she receives it, she & fly will attend as they did before Mumbai Police and ED as law abiding citizens. No speculations are necessary," the team said in a statement.
Sushant was found dead in his Bandra flat in Mumbai on June 14. Now, the CBI has taken over the case. The CBI team on Sunday took the late actor's personal staff back to his flat in Bandra for further questioning and recreating the crime scene.
The team also visited the Waterstone resort where the late actor had spent two months. The CBI team was there for over two hours, trying to determine how Sushant behaved during his stay at the place.
