The ban on TikTok and 58 other Chinese apps by the government of India has received overwhelming support from people across the country, with many Bollywood celebrities, too, throwing their weight behind the decision. The latest celebrity to join the bandwagon of support for the ban is our own Munni. If you haven't guessed it already, we're referring to ageless beauty Malaika Arora, who's voiced her solidarity for the government's sudden decision on her official Instagram handle, calling the ban the best news she's heard during lockdown and expressing relief that she won't be subjected to anymore ridiculous videos.
Sharing a news flash announcing the ban on TikTok and other Chinese apps on her Instagram story, Malaika Arora wrote: “Best news I have heard in lockdown... finally we will not be subjected to people’s ridiculous videos.” Check out her post below:
We wonder though if this statement will rub some of her Bollywood buddies, who've been quite active on TikTok, the wrong way. Several B-Town celebs like Shilpa Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh, Shahid Kapoor, Kartik Aryaan, Sara Ali Khan, Alaya F, Jacqueline Fernandez and Zareen Khan have been sharing their TikTok videos since some time now. Regardless, the ban has come as a huge shock to several youngsters, who were dependent on the app for their bread and butter.
On the other hand, the majority of people, who were not on the app to begin with, have vociferously welcomed the decision, both for being spared from, as Malaika put it, "ridiculous videos" henceforth, and hitting the Chinese economy where it really hurts after the recent skirmishes between the country's forces and Indian Army..
