As you all are aware, a lot of movies released last Friday. The range was pretty different. If there was a stylish super good looking people in A Gentleman doing some cool stunts, there was also Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, a gun-totting romantic who slayed everyone with his histrionic like always. Then there were others too like Sniff, Qaidi Band but only these two made box office matter in the last weekend. Now BB is already on its way to become a big success. But A Gentleman was a disappointment majorly.

Much has to do with the logistics. A Gentleman was supposed to post decent numbers at the box office. Our Trade Expert had predicted Rs 25 crore opening weekend but it only earned Rs 13.13 crore. Everything was in its favour. The trailer unveiled a really stylish film of Hollywood level. So the expectations were pretty big. Also, it was rumoured to be a sequel to Bang Bang! starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, though the makers had condemned that vehemently. It did help the film get some attention. But it's not enough to just look good. Despite getting more than 1000 screens, the film only made Rs 13.13 crore which wasn't expected from it. Check out the latest figures right here...
Now coming to Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, Nawazuddin's film got good reviews and that made the film mint money from the first day itself. It has released in only 500 screens according to reports and still managed to make it count at the box office. Of course, the credit lies with Nawaz who has been simply magnificent in the film. It was said that families will stay away from the film because of content. Even if that was true, the film didn't suffer at all. In fact, it is already a hit. A 5 crore film has already earned Rs 7.53 crore and it's only the first weekend....what more do you want. Check out the film's latest figures right here...
