The hearing was held today. Check out this latest update...
Pratyusha Banerjee's mother had filed a plea in Bombay HC seeking the Crime Branch probe in her daughter's suicide case. Her parents believe their daughter was murdered by her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, while the cops are wrongly calling it a case of suicide. In their petition, Pratyusha's parents even argued stating, "It is not suicide, but clearly a planned killing, Rahul had made sure he threw us out of the house in January and the bank account was also wiped out a day before Teetan (Pratyusha's pet name) lost her life,'' said her father.
"There are just too many questions about the death that don't fit as suicide. Why did Rahul take Pratyusha to Kokilaben hospital when he himself got admitted to a hospital nearby, that means he knew there was a hospital there. We were not allowed to see the room in which she died. Why was the FIR registered much later on April 5 as suicide even though on April 2 we raised questions of the suspicious manner of the death?'' The petition in court also said, ''the circumstances surrounding the death and the behavior of Rahul since, raises strong suspicion about it being murder."
However, accepting the assurance by DCP zone XI that a fair and proper probe is being conducted and that it is at a very sensitive stage, the Bombay high court on April 21 didn't grant a plea made by Pratyusha Banerjee's mother to transfer the case to Crime Branch, but posted the matter to May 4. Yes! We've just got to hear that the court has declined Pratyusha's parents plea. But having said that, Rahul is still remains as the main suspect. He is currently out on an anticipatory bail where allegations suggest he forced Pratyusha for an abortion which is why she killed herself.
