Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat copies from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Most often than usual Bollywood copies from Hollywood and Indian TV soaps ape Hindi films, here’s a first where a historical show lifts from a Hollywood flick

Colors’ popular historical show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat is currently showcasing the race to become the ultimate warrior of Magadh. Yuvraj Sushim (Sumedh Mudgalkar), Siyamak (Md. Faizan) and Ashok (Siddharth Nigam) are the top three contenders who can win the race and be pronounced as the ultimate warrior and be gifted Samrat Chandragupta Maurya’s sword. Sushim is trying every trick in the book to win the competition and in order to win he is ready to sacrifice anyone who comes in his way. His biggest threats are Ashok and Siyamak, who have been giving him touch competition. They’ve already started the last leg of the race which will test their level headedness in the face of a crisis or death and life situation. We caught a glimpse of the third task and we immediately thought of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and a fire dragon. The promo of Chakravartin... showcases all the challengers enter a maze which looks like a direct lift from the movie. The walls closing in on Sushim reminds us of how Cedric Diggory got trapped between two walls as they kept closing in on him. In Harry Potter the challengers of the Triwizard tournament had to fight demons, spells, and weird creatures, but on Ashoka the contenders will be seen battling tigers and snakes. It would be interesting to see how much of the maze sequence has the Indian show copied from Harry Potter.
